Triennial Seacoast Response Exercise 2023

Saturday, September 16, 2023 | 7am-2pm

Please Be Aware:

On Saturday, September 16th, from 7am- 2pm, Portsmouth International Airport (PSM) will be conducting a triennial Seacoast Response Exercise here on the north side of the airport (Newington side).

Every three years, airports will conduct a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) sanctioned full-scale mass casualty exercise in coordination with local agencies in order to test and evaluate our airport emergency plan. This year’s exercise will simulate an airplane accident and will include approximately 100 volunteers from UNH’s Nursing program posing as victims.

The exercise will include a coordinated emergency response from various mutual aid partners, including police, fire departments, local hospitals, the New Hampshire Air National Guard (NHANG), and many more. You may see and hear sirens from emergency support services on or near Portsmouth International Airport and the Pease Tradeport.

Please be aware that this response is for PRACTICE ONLY and that there is no need for alarm.

For more information about this exercise, please contact Airport Management at (603) 766-6536.
